In Hazaribag, eastern India, thousands of children grow up in families trapped in cycles of poverty. Many belong to Scheduled Caste and tribal communities who have endured generations of social exclusion, limited access to services and deep economic disadvantage. For children in these communities, staying in school is not a given — it's a fight. Early dropout, a lack of resources, and few pathways to employment mean that without support, the cycle continues.
But for 75 years, Jesuit Mission and its local partners have been walking alongside these communities — making sure children don't have to fight alone.

This isn't short-term aid. It's long-term accompaniment. And it works because our partners are trusted members of these communities — identifying needs, connecting families to services, and walking with them every step of the way.
